Best Makeup Products of 2013

It's time to share with you the products that I've loved this year! This is going to be a very long post, I'm warning you now haha! I've got lots of favourites to share with you and I am dreading how long this post will take to type but it will be worth it I think. This is like 12 monthly favourites posts coming together. I shared my makeup favourites last year as well so feel free to go back and compare my favourites, read that post here. Now onto this year's favourites though, as you can see I have quite a few! So many products have stood out for me so I really struggled to pick my favourites. These are all products that I use on a daily or weekly basis.

Best Eye Primer
In 2013 I tried the famous Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion after I bought it from a blogsale for less than half it's retail price. I loved it after a few uses and definitely saw a difference between it and the ELF primer I was originally using. This makes my eyeshadow stay on a lot longer and it stops them from creasing. This one is nearly empty and despite it being about £15 I think I will repurchase it at some point after I've finished my other eye primer as it really is fab!

Best Mascara
I really thought this favourite would be the same as 2012s, the MUA Every Lash Mascara, I was very wrong though as I'm actually picking the bareMinerals Lash Domination Mascara* this year. I love the mascara wand, it is spiralled and this means it catches every little lash. It gives my lashes so much volume and length and it stays on all day which is the main element I look for in a mascara. I really couldn't be more impressed with this!

Best Cream Eyeshadow
This is a product that featured in 2012s post and this year I love my Maybelline Colour Tattoos just as much. I have the shades Permanent Taupe and On and On Bronze, I love the first shade more but they are both fantastic. These stay on all day and night and keep their great pigment, even the matte brown shade is very pigmented. If you haven't tried these yet I really recommend that you do, you are missing out on some fantastic cream eyeshadows!

Best Eyeliners
I don't wear eyeliners as much as others but I do really like these ones. These are the Rimmel ScandalEyes Eyeliners, I have the black shade and the nude shade. I love using the Nude shade on my waterline as it brightens up my eyes and generally just makes me look more awake. I don't use the Black shade as much but when I do I usually use it to tightline as I don't tend to wear eyeliner in any dramatic manner, I much prefer to apply lots of mascara!

Best Eyeshadows

For eyeshadows I've picked a drugstore palette and a high end palette. My first pick is GOSH's Smokey Eyes Palette in 02 Brown, it really became a favourite of mine in 2013. I only tend to reach for neutral eyeshadows and this little palette has all the shades I could need to create countless looks. It has the ability to create soft looks and more dramatic looks, all the shades are highly pigmented as well and last nearly all day. This year I really want to take a look at the other shades that GOSH offer as this little quad is fantastic!

For my high end pick I've gone for the Urban Decay Naked2 palette, this was also in my 2012 favourites. I really couldn't imagine not having this palette as I reach for it nearly everyday! The shades suit my pale skin really well and there are just so many different looks that you can create with this beauty. All the shades are very highly pigmented and stay on all day, they are by far the best eyeshadows I've ever tried.

Best Lipsticks

For lipsticks MAC really wins it for me, in 2013 I discovered them and now I have a little collection of 3. The two shades that I wear the most are Creme Cup (cremesheen) and Syrup (lustre). I've developed a love for the Lustre finish/formula as I love how moisturising it is and how you can build up the colour. Creme Cup is a gorgeous nude pink that has become one of my favourite lipsticks to sport with a coat of mascara and a flush of blusher. Syrup is a shade that I wouldn't have usually picked but it is probably my favourite lipstick now, I think it suits my complexion really well.

2013 also saw my love for Balm Stains/Lip Crayon blossom! I've tried so many different brands now and there are still more out there for me to try. The brands that have really stood out to me are Revlon and MUA. Revlon's are well pigmented, minty and have the longest staying time out of all the ones I've tried. Whereas MUA's are more pigmented and less long wearing. They are both great for different reasons and I'm sure that 2014 will see my love for them blossom even more.

Best Foundation

2013 saw me finally find the perfect foundation for me, I discovered the GOSH CC Cream* and I haven't stopped using it since. Being pale is quite difficult when it comes to buying foundations but this CC Cream is a great match for me, it really is good for those with pale skin. It gives me light-medium coverage and leaves my skin looking natural and gives it a slight glow, this really is the perfect product for me!

Best Concealer

This concealer featured in my 2012 favourites as well and a year on I am still loving and using the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer on a daily basis. It covers everything and I really couldn't be without it, again this is a product that matches my skintone really well also. I really haven't got much to say about it other than it is fab!

Best Powder

Again my face powder favourite hasn't changed and I'm still enjoying using the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. It keeps my foundation and concealer in place and keeps my skin shine free in the places I need it to. As much as I love it though I do feel like I want to try something new so feel free to recommend me your favourite drugstore powders in the comments below!

Best Primer

I never really used to use Primer until I won this Benefit POREfessional PRO Balm and fell in love with it. I never really knew that I needed it until I tried it. This helps minimise the appearance of pores really well and makes my skin look a lot smoother. I use it under my CC Cream a lot but also I use it on it's own sometimes, just to make my skin look a bit nicer!

Best Highlighter

In 2013 everyone seemed to go crazy over the MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter, me included. This isn't a product I use everyday but definitely every week, it just gives my skin that extra something. For the price it is great as it is well pigmented and lasts for most of the day. It's a really lovely champagne colour that will suit everyone as well, a winner all round in my eyes.

Best Blusher

And last but certainly not least is my favourite blusher, this really wasn't difficult to pick. The NYX Blush in Peach has definitely been my most used blush throughout 2013, I reached for it nearly everyday and my other blushers definitely have been abandoned a little. It is just the perfect shade for my complexion and has just the right amount of pigmentation, I definitely need to get my hands on more NYX Blushes!

And that is that! They are all my makeup favourites of 2013, quite a few I know!

Are any of these products your favourites as well? Let me know below!
