I was stalking the aisles of Priceline and Target somewhat recently when I discovered the selection of Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadows* that were available. My mind was instantly cast back to Jewel Up the Ocean*, a beautiful turquoise shade that had arrived on my doorstep a few months prior. I picked up a few of the Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadows in more neutral shades and today I'm here to review them for you all!
#01 Jewel up the Ocean* | #01 Steel-ing the Scene* | #03 Frosted Apple | #04 Sparkle All Night | #05 Chocolate Jewellery | #07 Golden Up!
As you can see from the swatches above, the Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadows are incredibly pigmented eyeshadows have have a high level of shine and shimmer to them. There is a number of different shades available, from very bright colours like Jewel up the Ocean* to more everyday colours like Chocolate Jewellery and Golden Up!
The texture of the Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadows is quite lovely. It's a little more grainy that a traditional eyeshadow, as one may expect from a product with such a high level of shimmer and glitter, however it still applies very smoothly and causes no irritation to the eye. I've worn these eyeshadow a couple of times and I've also never had an issue with fall out, something that I was very surprised about.
Whist the top layer of product in the eyeshadows is more densely packed with glitter, as seen in the photo above, I have found that the effect of the product doesn't vary that greatly as the product is continued to be used. I haven't found the Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadows to be one of those products with an overspray - it seems to be all the way through. Huzzah!
All in all, I think the Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadows are beautiful, not only for the price but also in general. They are very similar in texture and effect to my Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadows and, at a quarter of the price, I will be recommending them to everyone, especially lovers of a shimmer look. They are available from Essence stands at Priceline and Target for $4.50.
If you're looking at picking up a particular colour, please note that Steel-ing The Scene is a part of the Limited Edition Metal Glam Trend Edition available in stores now.
Have you tried the Essence Metal Glam Eyeshadows? Which tickles your fancy?
