Skin Care Monday: let's get techy with Magnitone Lucid

Good morning beauties and welcome back to Skin Care Monday!
This time I'm going to start a little journey with you guys. I am going to test the new Magnitone Lucid daily cleansing and exfoliation brush, in the hope that this new gadget will help set my skin straight. Warning: this post contains pictures of my skin without any makeup, it is not for the weak-hearted.

The brand promises that in only 7 days you can achieve "incredible skin, with a softer, smother complextion that looks and feels different."Thanks to the pulsing gentle cleansing action, it will remove all the dirt that still clog pores after your normal cleansing rituals, leaving the skin "clearer, healthier and brighter looking".

These are wonderful promises and over the past few years we have seen many of these pulsing cleansing brushes get on the market, Clarisonic above all, having great success with the public. What attracted me to this product in particular is the lower price range, retailing for only 69.99£, the fact that it is fully waterproof and can be used in the shower, and that it is simple to use. And honestly, it's just adorable and comes in 5 different colors and with 3 different types of brush heads sold separately for sensitive skin, a luxury cleanse or a luxury massage.

You just wet your face, add some of your daily cleanser on the brush head, turn it on and pass it on your face in circular motions, just like you would use your hands to cleanse your face. There are two settings, a Daily Cleanse and a Sensitive mode, and a built in timer that will stop the device after 1 minute of use. A bonus for this is that it beeps every 20 seconds to tell you to move on to the next zone. It comes with one brush head and a magnetic charger that is small and perfect for travel. Thankfully they provide both a British and European style plug that are easily interchangeable.

The manual provides clear instructions to start using the brush. The device has to be charged for 24 hours prior to use and then can be used daily. For the first 5 days they advise to use the Lucid in the sensitive setting to enable your skin to get used to the new cleansing method.

I have always had combination skin with stubborn hormonal breakouts on my chin an quite large pores on and around the nose. A lot has improved since I started sticking to a skin care routine, but of course I'm not completely happy yet and always on the lookout for the next step to better skin.

So starting today, I will be using it every evening with my regular cleanser, the La Roche Posay Effaclar, and will come back next week with another Skin Care Monday post on how I get along with the Magnitone Lucid brush and new pics of my hopefully renewed skin.

See you in a week back here with no makeup on! Yikes! In the meantime, if you want to check out the Magnitone line, you can find it at www.magnitone.co.uk and at Boots, it also makes a wonderful Christmas gift.
